These changes in the Senate in the Trump agenda bill could be points at home

All eyes are now in the Chamber after the Senate approved little tax cut and an expense bill that is the centerpiece of President Donald Trump’s agenda.

A key test vote is expected on the camera on Wednesday, but it is not clear if it will approve divisions given within the Republican Party. Several Republicans of the House of Representatives were seen in the White House to meet with President Trump, who is increasing pressure on legislators to obtain the bill in his desk.

But several changes made by the Senate to the bill approved by the Chamber in May in May could become conflict points.

Medicaid provisions

The Senate made even deeper cuts and other changes in Medicaid, with the budget office of the non -partisan Congress (CBO) estimating that 11.8 million Americans could lose their health insurance during the next decade as a result. That is approximately three million people more than the estimation of the CBO for the draft Chamber Law.

The Senate maintained many of the new work requirements for Medicaid that the Chamber approved, but significantly altered the medical supplier tax that the states use to obtain more federal funds for the health program.

That became a point of discussion among some Republicans of the Senate, including Thom Tillis of North Carolina and Susan Collins de Maine, who voted against the Senate bill.

Already, some Republicans of the House of Representatives have expressed a similar concern.

Representative David Valadao, a moderate Republican from California, said he would not vote not on Trump’s bill unless the Senate attached to the exact provisions of Medicaid in the draft law last by the Chamber.

“Support the reasonable provisions in HR 1 that protect the long -term viability of Medicaid and ensure that the program continues to attend to our most vulnerable, but I will not support a final bill that eliminates vital financing flows that our hospitals trust, including the taxes of suppliers and payments led by the State, or any provision that punishes the expansion states,” said Valadao in a statement.

Deficit limit and debt

The CBO estimated that the Senate bill would add approximately $ 3.4 billion to the national debt in the next 10 years, approximately $ 1 billion more than the version approved by the Chamber.

The Senate version also includes an increase of $ 5 billion in the debt roof, significantly higher than the increase of $ 4 billion approved by the lower camera.

The representative Chip Roy, a Texas Republican, said Tuesday that “the general deficit number is not good” and that it was not “inclined” to support the Senate bill.

Representative Andy Harris, president of the House of Representatives of the House of Representatives, said the Chamber should take more time to work through the Senate bill and find a commitment.

“The Senate bill moved away a lot from the Chamber’s bill, added $ 750 billion to a large deficit and debt,” Harris said in CNBC on Wednesday morning, and added that contributing more to the deficit “probably is not a good idea.”

Other changes

Other Republican uncompromising disagree with various parts of the bill of the House of Representatives that were taken by the Senate parliamentarian, who is responsible for ensuring that the provisions comply with the Byrd rule and the reconciliation process.

Some of the articles taken from the camera bill include a language that would have repealed some rules of the Biden era on clean energy and electric vehicles.

The version of the Senate of the bill also phase to the fiscal loans of solar energy that were part of the inflation reduction law of President Joe Biden at a slower pace than the version of the Chamber.

“Many senators thought they were voting for a bill that would end the new green scam”, representative Keith Self, Texas Republican, wrote about X. “It turns out that a last -minute paragraph inserted by lobbyists and agreed for leadership, the exact opposite?

Representative Andy Ogles, a Republican from Tennessee, said he wanted to promote an amendment to replace the Senate’s text with the Chamber’s Law Project.

“I do not work for the Senate parliamentarian. Work for the people. That is why I just presented an amendment to eliminate your doubt and replace it with the strong bill of the House of Representatives that we approved weeks ago,” Ogles wrote in X. “The Senate version of the great Trump provisions of Big Beaf Guts, all at the bottom of a parliamentary not chosen.”

A great obstacle to the Republicans of the House of Representatives when they took Trump’s internal policy bill was Salt, the deduction of state and local taxes.

The Chamber finally decided a $ 40,000 limit and an income limit of $ 500,000 would increase by 1 percent to 2033. However, the Senate version would maintain the limit of state and local tax deductions to $ 40,000 for a married couple that wins less than $ 500,000 per year, but the limit decreases to $ 10,000 after five years in 2029.

“I think Salt worsened,” said representative Roy to journalists after the Senate approved the bill.
