State officials said during a press conference on Friday that 20 Campists of the Mystic Camp, of the total of 750 campers, were not counted after the catastrophic floods in the center of Texas on Friday.

Camp Mystic is a private Christian summer camp for girls, according to the organization website. Established in 1926, it is located along the banks of the Guadalupe River, which has seen devastating floods in the middle of the heavy rain.
In a brief note for families on early Friday, the camp said: “We have suffered flooding floods. We do not have energy, water or wifi.”
The camp office said campers at Senior Hill and Cypress Lake have been counted.
“If your daughter is not counted, she has been notified. If she has not been contacted personally, her daughter is counted.”
