The members of the Government Efficiency Department Elon Musk arrived at the headquarters of the Peace Corps in Washington, DC, on Friday to begin a review of the internal systems of the independent agency as part of their governmental efforts to reduce cost reduction, according to multiple sources familiar with the subject.
When he contacted to comment, a spokesman for the Peace Corps told ABC News: “The Government Efficiency Department is currently working at the Headquarters of the Peace Corps and the agency is supporting its requests.”
A White House official also confirmed to ABC News that Dege was working on the peace body.
The sources told ABC News that Peace Corps personnel have been informed that Doge team members will be on the site and work during the weekend, and access to internal systems must be given.
The personnel have also received instructions to help the team establish internal accounts, the sources said.
Employees have been told to retain records of all Doge requests and were told that “equivalent data sets” can be provided instead of direct access to the system, according to sources.
